President's Message.
Welcome to the National Association of Black Journalists – St. Louis.

For nearly five decades, NABJ-STL has stood at the intersection of journalism, advocacy, and community. As the St. Louis area chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists, we are committed to uplifting African American journalists and communications professionals while ensuring that our stories, voices, and perspectives are represented with truth and dignity.

Our impact reaches beyond the newsroom. In 1977, our chapter—then known as GSLABJ—launched the Minority Student Journalism Workshop, a free program created to open doors for high school and first-year college students interested in journalism. What began as a local initiative quickly became a powerful model for NABJ chapters across the country, helping shape the next generation of storytellers and truth-tellers.
Today, that same spirit of mentorship, advocacy, and excellence continues to guide our work.

It is an honor to serve as President of NABJ-STL. Together, we remain dedicated to advocating for equity in media, inspiring the next generation of journalists, and championing opportunities that elevate Black voices in St. Louis and across the nation.

Our mission is clear: to empower journalists, strengthen our community, and ensure that our stories are told—boldly, authentically, and without compromise.

Sincerely,
